I count things. Patterns grow out of my numbers. Crochet is a technique well suited to my love of numbers, patterns, and clothing the human form. Count. Count. Measure. Graph. Count again. Somewhere within the numbers lies a connection to something beyond self. I use crochet integrated with traditional metalsmithing techniques to create durable objects that conform to and interact with the body. I aspire to create that moment where viewer’s breath catches and the infinite appears; within a minuscule space, loops alter and repeat until there is form. The form is my footprint on a path to transcendence. It is my poetic goal which I attack over and over through fire, through force and through rhythm, quietly looping and pulling. Each piece represents my attempt to capture divine moments in tangible forms.
